SCOBA ’07 Members Raise Funds for Patrick Ibenta’s Recovery

The spirit of brotherhood shone brightly once again as members of SCOBA ’07 came together to support our brother, Mr. Patrick Ibenta, who recently underwent a delicate brain surgery.

By God’s grace, the surgery was successful, and today, our family has concluded the fundraising effort with a total of ₦981,000 raised to support his recovery and ongoing needs.

Standing for a Brother in Need

Although Mr. Ibenta had not been up to date with his yearly dues before his illness, the executives, under the leadership of the President, Mr. Muokee Michael, chose to prioritize humanity and the sanctity of life above all else. The call was made, and once again, SCOBA ’07 members responded with love and generosity.

As the President noted, “A life was at stake, and that is why I insisted we must help. This is what true brotherhood is about.”

Gratitude to All Donors

We extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed. In these difficult times, it is no small thing to give, yet you still chose to stand for a brother. To those who wished to contribute but could not, your love and prayers are equally appreciated.

The words of scripture remind us:
“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” – Matthew 25:40

Special appreciation also goes to our executives for approving the donation quickly, and to Oremo and Mensah for their tireless efforts in coordinating this drive.

A Call for Commitment

While we celebrate this success, it also serves as a reminder of why active membership and dues compliance are so important. From 2026, after the adoption of the final constitution review, SCOBA ’07 will no longer entertain requests for support from members who are not financially up to date and actively involved in association activities.

As the President emphasized, “We are getting older, and issues like this will keep coming up. Sometimes money alone won’t solve your problem, but your relationship with this brotherhood will.”

Moving Forward in Unity

This donation has proven once more that SCOBA ’07 is more than just an association — it is a family. A family that stands together in times of need, and one that will continue to flourish as long as unity and accountability guide our steps.

Attached below is a video message from Mr. Ibenta Patrick, personally thanking the entire SCOBA ’07 family for their kindness and support.

Floreat! In Aeternum
May we flourish forever.
