The SCOBA ’07 Onitsha Branch held its first official meeting on 29th June 2025 at Sweet Garden Bar, Onitsha, marking the beginning of a new chapter for members residing in Onitsha and its surrounding areas.
The meeting, which began promptly at 1:00 PM, opened with a prayer led by Mr. Irechukwu Francis. One of the major highlights of the day was the selection of the branch’s pioneer executive team to lead the affairs of the organization.

In his opening remarks, President Ezulike Christian emphasized the importance of structure and direction for the branch. To that end, Mr. Emele Chima and Mr. Anyiam Samuel were appointed to draft a constitution for the Onitsha branch, with a two-month deadline.
The meeting addressed the branch’s approach to event attendance and financial contributions. Members agreed to align with the SCOBA ’07 general body in terms of participation and presentation of envelopes at weddings, burials, and similar events. However, the branch also resolved to maintain its own identity by having a distinct event envelope, while allowing members to give additional personal gifts if they so wish.
On the matter of meeting frequency, it was agreed that SCOBA ’07 Onitsha Branch would hold physical meetings every two months, specifically on the last Sunday of the scheduled month.
The SCOBA ’07 General President, Mr. Muokee Micheal, was in attendance and addressed the house. He encouraged the branch to aim high and even surpass the accomplishments of existing branches like Lagos. He also emphasized the importance of self-investment and unity.

Mr. Awoke Miracle appreciated the SCOBA ’07 general executives and advised the Onitsha Chairman to promote peace and conflict resolution within the branch.

Mr. Ekwelundu Emeka emphasized the need for dues and levies to fund the branch and urged members to make sacrifices for growth.
Another major resolution was the decision to open a dedicated bank account for SCOBA ’07 Onitsha Branch to ensure financial transparency and proper record-keeping.
The meeting, which recorded an attendance of more than 20 members, ended at 2:55 PM with a closing prayer said by Mr. Ezulike Christian.
This inaugural gathering set a clear tone for growth, unity, and leadership for the newly formed SCOBA ’07 Onitsha Branch. With strong leadership and collective commitment, the branch is already on a promising path.
