A Brotherhood in Action – SCOBA ’07 Donates to Late Tender’s Family

In a heartfelt show of unity and brotherhood, the members of SCOBA ’07 came together to support the family of our dearly departed brother, Obiekezie Ifeanyi (a.k.a Tender), who passed away in November 2022 and was laid to rest on December 9th.

Tender was not just a member – he was an active and dedicated brother, and his sudden departure left behind a wife and young son. As long as SCOBA ’07 exists, we believe his family remains part of us.

Following the inauguration of the new executives, the Welfare Team sent one of our brothers, Elochukwu, to visit Tender’s family and assess their wellbeing. After his report and further consultations between past and current executives, a decision was made to open a general donation drive to support the wife and child.

Though it was initially planned to involve only the President, UK Branch, and Lagos Branch, it became clear that many brothers wished to contribute. The door was opened, and the response was overwhelming.

Special thanks go to the UK Branch, led by Chairman Fidelis Okafor, for their swift and selfless support. We also deeply appreciate our Lagos Branch, whose members will visit Tender’s family this Sunday to present the donation raised.

This collective effort is now written in the history of our association. It is a reminder that SCOBA ’07 is not just a group, but a family that shows up when it matters most.

As we move forward, the Welfare Team will now focus solely on active members, those who are financially up to date and participate in SCOBA ’07 activities. All future requests for assistance must go through the Welfare Committee for vetting.

We also encourage members who feel led to support others privately to channel such support through the Welfare Chairman for proper accountability. Anonymous giving is also welcome.

May God bless everyone who contributed. May the soul of our brother Tender continue to rest in peace. May our bond as brothers grow even stronger.
